Read My Stuff

Published by in work on June 13th, 2011

You have to love a long weekend. It completely throws out your entire schedule and the summary of links to your posts from the previous week ends up happening much later than you thought it would. In any case, better late than never – here’s last week’s writing shenanigans: (more…)

Read My Stuff

Published by in work on June 3rd, 2011

So now that I’m a fancy new freelance-type, I figure the Shuffle is a great place to share my weekly words that have been published places. This week, I managed to break out of Giz and get my byline on News.com.au. Kinda glad comments are switched off though :) (more…)

Just So You Know

Published by in work on June 2nd, 2011

Because I’m a geek for things like this, I was officially wearing my Gizmodo shirt on my last day on Tuesday. I was wearing it under another shirt so as not to be too obvious, but yeah, I was packing Giz…

The End Of An Era

Published by in work on May 31st, 2011

Well, it’s official… After more than 4700 posts, countless events and roughly three years and five months at the helm, I have officially ended my tenure as editor of Gizmodo Australia. But before I kick off the next adventure, it’s time to look back and reminisce… (more…)

Some Pics From Canon’s 60D Launch

While the launch was awesome, Canon’s recent 60D event was a little short on photo opportunities. Or at least, some of my shots were very average in the time we had. Hence the explanation of only nine shots here. That and the fact that a lot of my pics were of people, and I don’t like publishing people pics without permission.

Still, I love the tilt-shift effect on the 60D, which turns any photo into a faux-miniature. Much better than dropping $2000 on a lens for most people.

Samsung’s NX100 Launch In Hong Kong

Last month, Samsung took me over to Honkers for the launch of their NX100 EVIL camera. These shots were taken with pre-production versions of the camera, plus some with the NX10.

I have to say, the night shots up at the Peak are (in my opinion) some of the best shots I’ve ever taken. You’ll notice there are three pics that are pretty much identical – that’s because they are. The latter two are based on the first, but after they’ve been run through a filter on the camera. I’m very impressed with the results.

Once they upgrade the NX10′s firmware to support i-Function lenses, I think I might have found my new compact SLR-type camera. Once I rally up the funds for it, that is…

Photos: Berlin via IFA

The Berlin end of my Sony junket to IFA. The photos probably don’t do the city justice…

Photos: Sony Junket to Tokyo

A couple of weeks back, I took a trip to Berlin with the guys from Sony, which involved a few days in Tokyo. I was playing with Sony’s NEX-5, complete with a fisheye add-on lens. It was fun.

These are some of my better shots from this leg of the trip…

Be my friend on whatever social network you want!

I figured it might be worth putting all my social network account names in one space so my friends – real or imagined – can add me to the respective network and give me the vague sense of gratification that I actually have friends. Huzzah!

I Have an IMDB Page

I did a bit of self-Googling yesterday (as I do regularly to see if anyone’s claiming I work for someone other than Giz AU), when I discovered something fascinating: My appearance on the 7PM Project a couple of months back has resulted in me getting my very own IMDB page. (more…)
